GPA stands for Grade Point Average which basically means your overall GPA from all of high school. There are two types of GPA weighted and unweighted. Unweighted GPA is calculated on a 4.0 scale this means the difficulty of the class isn't considered in the unweighted overall GPA. Your weighted GPA is usually out of 5.0 which means the difficulty of the class is counted, In most schools Regular/Academic classes are out of 4.0 while Honor classes are out 4.5 and AP classes are out of 5.0, Keep in mind GPA isn't always calculated the same in every school each school has its own method!
How is My GPA Calculated?
So now since you know the 4.0 and 5.0 scale you can begin cacluating your GPA!
Here is an example:

Unweighted GPA:3.7+3.0+3.3+4.0+4.0+2.3+4.0+4.0=28.3
28.3/8(the total number of classes)=3.5375
Final Unweighted GPA=3.5375
Weighted GPA;4.2+4.0+3.8+4.0+4.0+3.3+4.0+4.0=31.3
31.3/8(total number of classes)=3.9125
Final Weighted GPA=3.9125
Now you know how to calculate your Unweighted and Weighted GPA
